BioSS has an international reputation in the field of mathematics and statistics applied in the
biological sciences. BioSS contributes research, consultancy and training to agricultural,
biological and environmental research organisations in Scotland, and pursues a lively
programme of fundamental research, counting many UK universities among its collaborators.
BioSS has earned an international reputation for its research programme in biomathematics
and statistics and their staff supervises postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers in
conjunction with many universities. BioSS offers a broad programme of training in statistics
and mathematics. The role in the consortium is the co-ordination of WP 4.2 (test of multiple
risk assessment methods) and to develop a course on risk assessment of environmental
hazards.
